Hi lovelies!

Here finally a blog from me again, and now from the city of San Francisco! Yes we made it. We've been here allready for six days, can't believe it, time is going fast! So six days ago, we left Fort Bragg early in the morning and catched the MTA bus at 07.03 am for Santa Rosa. In Santa Rosa we had to make a transfer to a bus from Greyhound Lines, but that bus didn't leave before 03.00 pm, so that was a loooooong break for us. But we had water, food and sun, that's all we needed. Then just half an hour before, we got to talk to some people and they told us that the hostel we were going to in San Francisco was a bad one to stay at. We then took a closer look on some reviews on the internet, and it indeed had lots of bad reviews and was also located in not the best neighbourhood. Change of plans! Through those websites we found another international hostel and we decided that we would first check that one out as soon as we got into the city. The busride went well, we got on another bus in SanFran and finally we reached the hostel. Very good first impression. The girl behind the counter made us feel home right away and she was happy to hear that we came to them instead. And until now it's been a great place to stay! It's located on Mason Street, which is in the middle of downtown San Francisco. From there on everything is easy to walk and you can get around quite well with the public transportation. The hostel offers every morning free breakfast (pancakes, oatmeal, coffee, tea, etc.) and every night 'Party in the basement' from 09.30 pm with free beer! There are mostly people from our age from all over the world. The second night we met three girls from Denmark, and we will meet with them again tomorrow night. Emese and I are very happy that we found this hostel :)

The days went fast, but we've seen already so much of San Francisco. Here are small list of the (favourite) places where we went:

-Financial District: Here Market Str. is the longest, most crowded and at the same time our favourite street in San Francisco. Need clothes? Go there!
-Fisherman's Wharf: Down at the port, you can escape the financial madness and settle down at a restaurant with a bay-view to enjoy the famous one-and-only Clam Chowder. The seafood is amazing here, you can watch the sea lions and you can take a cruise on the bay. Touristic but fun!
-Pacific Heights: There is only one place to live in San Francisco, and that is Pacific Heights. Here are the most beautiful and expensive houses of the city. It's located on a hilltop. One side you have an interesting view of the bay where as on the other you can enjoy the beauty of the Pacific. Save about 17 million dollars, and you've got yourself a house in PH!
-The Castro and Mission: Are you up for some fine dining, bars and clubs? Then you have to go to the Castro or Mission. Both neighbourhoods know how to live the life of the party.
-China Town and Nob Hill: Jumpin' into another culture is what you do in Chinatown. English is not the main language anymore in this part of the neighbourhood, people are happily running small family businesses and suprisingly there are hardly any tourists around. You can buy the most crazy things here especially if it comes to food. You at least know what they mean with Oriental Flavor ;) Nob Hill is just before Chinatown, beautiful area where the young and succesful live. Apartments, designer stores and fancy restaurants mark this neighbourhood.

We've seen a lot, but still not everything! Tomorrow we'll take another tour (we had one in Pacific Heights before) through the Japanese Tea Gardens in the Golden Gate Park. That should be very interesting and we're excited to go. Even though we are here for 8 days, it still seems like it's not enough to see the city. There is so much to do here and so many neighbourhoods to go to. It's a city full of life, and one of the most impressive I have been to so far. You can still feel the young/ free/no worries-atmosphere , and that makes the city so special and interesting.

I could tell you so much more about our experiences in the city, but I think I am done writing for now. After this week I will give another update on San Francisco, 'cause this city never gets boring!
We are both doing great and having the time of our lives!

Lots of love and peace and love!

Oh and tonight was the night of THE SUPERBOWL. The Baltimore Ravens played against the San Francisco 49'ers, and the whole city was covered in 'GO 49'ers!'-signs and many more. Unfortunately they lost, so no big party in the city tonight.

Hello dear friends and family! As you all know, I will be travelling through the USA the coming 5 months! I decided to keep an online diary, so you can all read my daily adventures I'm having back there. I would very much like if you would post a comment every now and then, so I know what you guys are up to back in Europe! This is hopefully an easy way to stay in touch with each other. Looking forward! Lots of love, Liefs, Alles Liebe, Charlotte
